Why do I need to create a donor account to give via bank account deposit (aka ACH debit)?

There is a cost incurred every time a checking account is authorized. Give Lively covers this cost. We don't pass that cost along to nonprofits. But to reduce costs generally, we require that donors create a Give Lively account where this bank account information can be authorized once and then stored for later use. Give Lively is never given nor does it store your actual bank account information. Stripe, our payment processor, works with Plaid, a bank account authorization service, to securely process these types of payments.
