How to link your Smart Donations page behind a "Donate" button on your website

Putting a link to your online fundraising page behind a "Donate" button on your website is a no-brainer for nonprofits. Below you will find directions to do so for the most popular site builder services: WordPress, Wix, and SquareSpace. If you used another service to build your site, you will want to contact that company and/or work with the member on your team who helped set the site up. Putting a link behind your "Donate" button is usually as simple as copy and pasting the URL.

If you're using WordPress, you will need to install a plugin for your site before adding a button. We recommend MaxButtons. If you already have a plugin that provides buttons, use that plugin to create a new button. Make the title "Donate" then paste your URL in to the link field. Click here to learn how to create a button using MaxButtons if you're just getting started.

The process for creating a button or editing a button's link on Wix is fairly straightforward. Click here to visit Wix's FAQ page on creating and editing buttons.

Squarespace is one of the most popular site builders out there due to it's straightforward user experience. Their FAQ page on buttons includes a video that will walk you through the whole process. Click here to visit the page.
